KB Kookmin Bank, together with the global child-rights NGO Good Neighbors, held the closing ceremony for the 13th cohort of the Cambodia KB IT Academy Advanced Course on the 11th December.

The Cambodia KB IT Academy is an education initiative launched in 2023 in partnership with the Korea Software HRD Center to provide Cambodia’s youth with IT training specialized for the financial industry. By offering high-quality, industry-aligned programs and career-linkage activities, the Academy aims to strengthen young people’s competitiveness in the job market. The project is being implemented as part of a five-year plan through 2027, which includes HRD Center renovations, equipment support, scholarship, career consulting, and job fairs.

This year’s ceremony was attended by approximately 150 participants, including 67 HRD Center faculty members and students, 40 corporate representatives (from KB Financial Group, KB Prasac Bank, and local companies), as well as partners from academic institutions, government ministries, and organizations such as KOSIGN and WebCash. The event featured team project presentations from the 13th cohort and an awards ceremony.

So Visothy, Secretary of State Ministry of Psot and Telecommunications, delivered congratulatory remarks, stating: “In this era of digitalization, strengthening human resource capability is a top national priority. We are deeply grateful to our Korean partners for supporting human resource development in Cambodia’s social development journey.”

Over the past two years, KB Kookmin Bank has achieved strong educational outcomes, recording a student satisfaction rate of 97.2% and a completion rate of 97.5%. The cumulative employment rate has reached 94%, with graduates securing positions across diverse industries.

The curriculum includes Android, iOS, DevOps, and Spring Boot—subjects designed around current industry demand. Beginning in 2025, courses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity have been newly added to reflect emerging IT trends.

A KB Kookmin Bank representative shared, “We hope that through the KB IT Academy program, graduates will continue to grow into outstanding talents who will lead the development of Cambodia’s IT industry. KB will remain committed to fulfilling our corporate social responsibility by fostering inclusion and shared growth not only in Korea but also across the global community.”
